I am a MSW student at KU, and this year we are holding a kickball fundraiser for a child with cancer. Â This tournment is going to be held on April 17, 2010. Â I played in the KVKL last year and had a blast. Â I thought this would be a fun time for teams to get together, and have some practice fun before the season begins. Please contact me if interested. Â Below is a description of the child we play for.

Jayden is the beautiful, 4 year old daughter of Jason and Erica Souter. She is a very spunky, hard headed little firecracker, just like all 4 year olds. She was originally diagnosed with a Wilms Tumor in June of 2009. The tumor was stage 3, and was treated for 6 months with chemotherapy and radiation. On November 27, 2009, she was given a clean bill of health via a ultrasound, and was scheduled for a follow up in January of 2010.
January 15, 2010, she was admitted to the hospital with stomach pain. After an ultrasound, CT, and biopsy, she was diagnosed with a Wilms relapse.  The tumor was on her spleen, and had spread to her liver and her stomach cavity wall. The prognosis was not good. She had grown a 6 ½ inch tumor while on chemotherapy treatment. The doctors gave her a very small chance for survival.  She spent 20 days in the ICU, and a total of 50 days in the hospital for the first 2 rounds of chemotherapy. Upon leaving the hospital, the tumor had shrunk 85%, and the spots on her liver/stomach wall were gone. She has a long road to recovery, but is doing well. She is on her 3rd round of chemotherapy now, and her parents continue to hope and pray for a speedy recovery.
