Kaw Valley Kickball League
Youth Sports Complex (aka YSC or YSI)

Youth Sports Complex (aka YSC or YSI)

Directions (from east of Iowa): Take 23rd Street/Clinton Parkway west to Crossgate Dr.  Take a left onto Crossgate Dr. and follow to (turns into 27th Street) a stop sign. Take a left (still on 27th Street) and go across the South Lawrence Trafficway/K-10. YSC is the first significant drive on the left. There will be a tournament of sorts at fields 1-4 (closest to the concession stands), so don't be wooed by the traffic you see there.  Continue to the southern part of the parking lot. The fields are all clearly marked. The grass fields are 14 (closest to the parking lot) and 15. The dirt fields (5-8) have a gravel parking area. 27th Street may also be accessed from Wakarusa (South from Clinton Parkway) or the SLT/K-10 (27th Street is the stoplight on SLT/K-10). See http://kawvalleykickball.com/fields/ Google maps for directional help or to ascertain safest bicycle routes. NO EQUIPMENT WILL NEED TO BE PICKED UP OR DROPPED OFF THIS WEEK! Since we're all playing at the same place, the equipment will be there waiting for you and then collected by members of the Board. Other things to consider: Many of us will be out there from 5 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.  Plan accordingly.  If possible, carpool.  This will prevent some car congestion, lower your carbon footprint, and help establish a designated driver.  The lights will be on a timer so we'll need to be swift with our clean-up at the end of the night.  If you're the last one at ANY field, please look around and collect any errant refuse.  There will be plenty of trash receptacles.  There will also be CFC collection bins at every field (we will not need the KVKL green bins this week). There are several bathrooms at the complex.  Portable toilets are near almost every field and the "nicer" bathrooms are by the concession stand (again, nearer to the entrance of the complex). We do not know how late the concession stand will be open.  23rd Street Brewery (home of the Brew Ballers!) is the nearest restaurant at 23rd and Kasold.  There's a gas station/quick shop at Clinton Parkway and Wakarusa. Please bring items that will be useful to you and yours: food, beverages (including water-there ARE water sources on site), sunscreen, bug spray, chairs, blankets, pop-up tents (for shade), more water, and so on. Since the early years, this is the first time all non-playoff or tournament games have been played at the same locale in the same night.  HISTORIC!  Let's make it a fun evening! Thanks, Deron
