Hello kvkl ballers –

 After a thrilling meeting with the KVKL board last night it’s time to get the party started for 2013:

 NEW BOARD MEMBER
After years of guiding the KVKL Josh Hunt of the Sacred Sword has stepped down from the KVKL Board.  His replacement is Matt Pryor of the Harpies.  Matt Pryor is a welcomed addition to our board with his skills both on and off the field.  We look forward to his wit, wisdom and fatherly expertise  on the board.

 

NEW TEAM
We had one slot open for a new team to enter the KVKL in 2013.  Ten new teams applied this year, with one of the teams being a team that also applied last year.  After a long discussion we welcome THE RATS to the kaw valley kickball league.  Seth Gabbert we look forward to playing against your team this season.  Hopefully you will begin scurrying and practicing to get ready for your teams debut on june 2.

 

SUNDAYS IN THE PARK
Every year the KVKL selects a member of our crew to be the writer of the Sundays in the Park, the official KVKL blog.  Thank you Kris Marshall for your wit and wisdom about all things kickball related on the blog last year.  We have decided to take a bit of a different path for 2013, and have chosen two people to write the blog for the league.  Justin Cox of the Chalmersiz, will write about all things statistical in the blog and Liz Schafer of the Red Lyon will dance her way through Sundays in the park with witty commentary on games of the week.  Look for posts from either both or one of them on Thursdays and Mondays.

 

NEW START TIMES
One of the main changes this year will be NEW start times.  Games will now run at 5pm & 7pm along with the 9pm game of the week.  This means the shed will be open 45minutes to one hour before the game to pick up equipment from the shed.

 

COMMITTEES
Another new addition to the KVKL this year is the beginning of committees with the league!  We know more of you want to be more involved and we think this is a great way to get started.  One board member is “in charge” of each committee, so please reach out to any of us if you are interested in joining, you know we would love the help. Our info is on the website....

Sun. June 2 – KVKL 2013 season BEGINS!
