TIMES
please note the start times for each week.  We did our best to not have any really early games, but we had to start games in week 2 at 4pm. this is what happens when mother nature decides to reign all over our fields with water two weeks ago.  with the loss of a week to rain we had to eliminate the reasonably awesome tournament bracket. don't worry if we can make it happen next year it will return.  this year red lyon you get to keep the mark twain trophy for one more year.  we tried to leave enough time for the few teams that will need to travel to fields upon victory in week 2.  please let's make sure all games are run on time the next two weeks, we have a lot of games to play to get to the championship at hobbs at 9pm.

REFFING
look to the right of your bracket.  there is a break down of how reffing is going to work.  in a nutshell here is how reffing is working:

8/18
Teams playing at 6:30 will be responsible for reffing the 5pm game on the same field and vice-versa.
Teams playing at 9:30 will be responsible for reffing the 8pm game on the same field and vice-versa.

8/25
All games will be reffed by volunteers this week. Reffing may be assigned by the board to specific teams if needed.
8 games at 4pm (Lyons East, Lyons West, Holc Blue, Holc Red, Holc Gold, Holc Left, Holc Right, and Hobbs).
4 games at 5:30 (Lyons East, Holc Gold, Holc Blue, and Hobbs)
2 games at 7pm and 9pm at Hobbs.

Mick Cottin, this years ref czar, will be in charge of coordinating volunteer refs.  he can be reached at mickcottin@gmail.com or (785) 550-3175.  Or you can always find any of us at kawvalleykickball@gmail.com  Let's get the best refs we can reffing the final games of the year.

CLEAN UP
There will be a board member at each set of fields who will bring clipboards/ clean up/ cans for community bins.  Matt Pryor will be at Lyons/ Diana (with some help from former commish's) at Holcom/ Scott/Mick/Erin/ Jacki - YSC.  What we request from all of you is to continue to be respectful at each field. use koozies, buy cans, and clean up your dugouts.  We would love any teams/ people to stay late at Hobb the night of the championship to help us clean up one final time.  Feel free to let either Erin Adams or myself know if you want to help out at hobbs.

END OF SEASON PARTY
Our annual end of season party will be FRIDAY SEPT. 13 at ABE & JAKES.  Doors 7pm.  It's a $5 cover. DJ Daft Goat will be providing the music, there will be lots of free beer, games, please bring a dish, or if your team has a hook up for food donations, let us know, we will take em.  there will again be both a raffle and silent auction, look to bid on cool shit from businesses in the area (again rumor of autographed KU basketball goods).  Our charities this year Penn House/ Social Service League.

CHARITY TOURNAMENT
The 8th annual KVKL charity tournament will be happening on sunday sept. 22 at Holcom.  If we again get 16 teams we will be starting at NOON.  Cost to register $100 minimum (but we would love if teams would do $10 a person).  We have not decided when registration would start, but know there are a lot of teams that want to play this year.  First 16 teams to pay get in.

what more is there to say.... hopefully not much except best of luck to all 32 teams. in two weeks one of your teams will get to dip your balls in the championship trophy and one team will gain control of the reasonably awesome diana plate.  yours in kickball - xojacki
