feel that chill in the air?  that means the KVKL board has met and is already getting ready for the next warm spring day when we can begin again on sundays playing our favorite of kickball.  many congratulations to abraxas winning the coveted KVKL cup and to all the other fine teams who participated in the KVKL classic this fall.  running the KVKL this summer was a breeze and i want to thank all 32 teams and the finest board ever.  this year we rolled our new committees, had our first official rain out week, and raised the most amount of money for our designated charities (Penn House / Social Service League), all while raising more funds for the scoreboard project. We learned that through cans for the community monies were given to Boys & Girls Club, Health Care Access and Douglas County Dental Clinic.  So thanks for drinking out of cans all summer, all our hard work imbibing while sporting really does help our community.  Thank you to Liz and Justin for writing Sundays in the Park, to Arie Auxter for starting our first traveling kickball team (KVLFK) and to all the captains who kept their teams on time and made the season one of the smoothest we have had in years.

look for committees to get rolling early in 2014, especially the rule committee. if you have opinions, if you have ideas, we would love your input.  And as my final input as the 2013 Commish, with a full on bleat, i present Scott Stewart as the 2014 commisioner.  We all know his mad skills as stats, which can only mean even greater excellence running the KVKL.
