Bracket - 2014 Charity Tournament

Hello Kickballers,

Please click here to view the 2014 Spring Tournament bracket at Holcom fields starting at 1pm.
Notice that each game has a number that cooresponds to the field and time at the top right.

Rules and Game Length

KVKL rules will be used. 1 hour games times regardless of innings played. Teams please try to play at a brisk pace as to not hold up the tournament. If games are tied and need to go over 1 hour, as a last resort, a coin toss will be used to decide the winner at 1 hour and 30 minutes. Hopefully we will not have delays and there will be plenty of time to finish all of the games.

The game times are set at exactly 1 hour apart, please start your games on time. There is no warm-up time scheduled between games. But, Blue field will be available for teams to warm-up on or for extra scrimmages, except during game #23.

If games do run extreamly late, or we do have weather problems that limit the amount of games we are able to play, Game #21 will be considered the Championship game. Our main goal is to get every team at least 2 games.

Reffing

Teams in the 1pm game will ref the 2pm game on the same field and vise-versa. Teams in the 3pm game will ref the 4pm game on the same field and vise-versa. Please have 4 players from your team available to ref any assigned game.

Due to the nature of double-elimination tournament, some teams might have a game at the same time as another game that they are assigned to ref. So, your team might need to provide more then the KVKL standard 2 refs for any given game. Even if your team is not playing at 1pm, please have you refs ready at 1pm.

We will likely need other volunteer refs throughout the tournament, so please don't hesitate to get out on the field and help out. OR find somebody that looks like they know what is going on and ask if you can ref.

If you are a player that wants to play, but does not have a team, please come on down and you might be able to get on a team that is short players, you could also volunteer to ref, or just cheer on the teams.

Jacki, Erin, and I (Scott) will be a Holcom if you have any question.

Charity

This year the charity we are all playing for is ELNA (East Lawrence Neighborhood Association). Not only is East Lawrence the place where we KVKLers enjoy our Game-Of-The-Week at Hobbs Park, but they also put on great events and charity benefits that make East Lawrence and the whole of Lawrence a great place to live.

Have Fun

Please remember that this tournament is for fun. That is the main goal along with getting at least 2 games for each team. If there are any problems in your game, if you are short players or refs, weather problems, or even at the end you are playing a team that is just too tired to play, PLEASE REMEMBER TO HAVE FUN! This tournment is for you and for charity.

Let's have a blast, see you Sunday!
