Hi All,
Things are already starting to ramp up for the KVKL Board for 2015. We will be putting out a lot of updates related to the upcoming season in the next few months and into the season. Look for new information both here and on Facebook.
But, first things first....
End of a Era and a KVKL Board Addition!
As some (or most) already know, Nicholas Lerner has resigned his position on the KVKL Board and we will miss his even, leveled-yet-opinionated personality at our upcoming meetings. Nick was the last original member of the first KVKL Board! I would personally like to thank him for his encouragement to me for the last several years. He has not only continued to be (and will continue to be) an outstanding and feisty kickball player, but has been a amazing leader for this league for the majority of the years that the KVKL has existed. Plus, he is thankfully going continue to help the Board from time-to-time with some things as we move into and through this upcoming season.
Our "Tech-Savvy Realtor" had nominated Benjamin Wright to replace him on the Board and ever since I have gotten to know Ben, I have noticed his kind and generous nature, which I am sure will be even more clear as he steps up and into his role on the Board.
So, please if you see Ben out and about, thank him for taking on this extra responsibility. Then if you see Nick, scream THANKS and throw him the shittiest pitch you can! (JK NOT JK)
2015 Commish
It was a awesome and humbling experience being the 2014 Commissioner, but the truth is that organizing each summer of KVKL is not possible without each other Board Member and the outstanding (and usually overwhelming amazing) help and support of players and volunteers. I will not lie that I feel some relieve that I will be back to filling my regular role on the Board. But, I would not trade the experience for anything (except maybe a Goats Championship - JK NOT JK).
With that said, I am honored to have the privilege of notifying the league that the Commissioner for the 14th year of KVKL will be Erin Adams!
There are few-to-none that have put in as much time and dedication as Erin has for this league. The strength of both her will and her heart have been a great example to me, along with anyone who has had the benefit to work with her for any amount of time. She is the first person to stand up to take grief or solve a problem.
I have no doubt that there is not a more worthy person to be Commissioner and she will help us to make the 2015 KVKL season the best yet!
Thanks!
