Helpful Officiating Hints- #1

Below are some suggestions from three experienced refs within the KVKL.  Rather than a requirement, this is merely a guide to help becoming a better referee.   Not everyone will agree on these points and that is O.K.  I do know that these guys take officiating seriously and want what is best for the league.  Hopefully, this will provide some insight to nuanced aspects of KVKL reffing (and if this…

Rank Play Schedule Updated

Some minor changes have been made to the rank play schedule.  Cougar found an error that gave many teams either too few or too many home games.  Also, the Cowser field will not be available until the playoffs, so those games have been moved to Wrigley.  Please update your refrigerator and tape this version over your previous Rank-Play schedule to avoid confusion. Rank Play Schedule Released

The KVKL has released the schedule for the remaining five weeks of the regular season.  This "Rank Play" schedule is based on each team's performance through the first half of the season, and attempts to match teams of similar strength.  The schedule also attempts to make sure that each team has a fair amount of home games, early games, and gets at least one game on a grass field.  Finally, you'll…

Well we made it to the midway point and everyone's beginning to see where they size up. What an amazing game of the week on sunday! I think we'll start to see some really close games in the second half of the season as we enter rank play...including rematches of tellers vs rangelife and eastsiders vs sacred sword. It's getting harder to rank teams as everyone continues to beat each other, but what…

KVKL Top 20 Rankings: Week 4

Hello all. Here's the rankings after week 4. Note that teams ranked 9-20 are all 2-2. To separate this all out I've given precedence to teams that have a better pool record(2-1, 2-2, or 1-2).
